Body CFRP
We introduce the inspection of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) for the body of high class cars and sport cars by non contact air coupled ultrasonic inspection instead of conventional ultrasonic immersion inspection.
Conventional ultrasonic inspection of CFRP is concerned, the immersion test is conducted.
But non contact air coupled ultrasonic testing is used, it is possible for inspection and measurement without couplant like water and jell.
The example of the picture is the distribution of transmission wave for the delamination of CFRP caused impact test, simulated circular disk defect by NAUT(non contact air coupled ultrasonic testing). The transmission wave in delamination part decreases.
