Subject : Ultrasonic testing using focal ultrasonic probe taking into account refraction and spherical aberration
Overview : When measuring a specimen with a focal ultrasonic probe, refraction occurs at the couplant and the surface of the specimen, causing the focal position to shift within the specimen.
In particular, the focal position shits significantly in Air coupled ultrasonic testing.
In addition, when refraction occurs due to spherical aberration, the focal point does not converge to one point.
Thus, in Air coupled ultrasonic testing, high-resolution measurement was achieved by arranging the probe while taking refraction and spherical aberration into account.
