Presented a paper at Non-destructive Evaluation Symposium of Ultrasound. 2023/02/02

Japan Probe presented "Detection principle needle tip using ultrasound probe for vertical puncture" at the 30th Non-destructive Evaluation Symposium of Ultrasound held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Technology Research Center Aomi HQ from January 24th (Tuesday) to 25th (Wednesday), 2023.

Subject : Detection principle needle tip using ultrasound probe for vertical puncture ; A simulation and experimental analysis by ultrasound guided wave
Overview : By using guided wave, we looked at the detection principle of the needle tip when the needle tip is punctured in the transmission direction of the ultrasonic waves.

It was confirmed by simulation that the tip is detected by the guided wave generated in the vicinity of the needle tip.
From the relationship between the needle tip angle and the detection intensity, it was investigated that the detection sensitivity is determined by the balance between the guided wave generated at the needle tip and the leaked guided wave.
