Cast iron: rough surface
We introduce the example that inspect a rough surface of a crankshaft (cast iron) by our array probe “KYOKUTAN: broad band high sensitive flexible array probe”.
Iron castings are used as various parts. In the inspection of a cast iron, we need to understand their unique material and generation mechanism of shrink cavity, and ultrasonic properties of them.
This is the example that inspection of a crankshaft (cast iron) by our array probe “KYOKUTAN”. This probe is possible to detect a surface layer defect.
You can watch the movie that we just touched a section of a cast iron with “KYOKUTAN” directly and detected simulation defects with diameter of 3mm and 5mm, under 15mm from a surface.
