Cast iron: rough surface

We introduce ultrasonic inspection of a rough surface of a cast iron (crankshaft) with direct contact.

Our “pencil-type soft probe” made it possible to conduct ultrasonic inspection of stuff that has a variety of shapes like a cast iron (crankshaft).

The detecting surface of “pencil type soft probe” is soft, and it can follow rough surfaces or a test object that has complex shapes. So “pencil type soft probe” is possible to inspect stuff that has properties as described above.

You can watch the movie that we conduct ultrasonic inspection of a horizontal simulation defect with diameter of 3mm on a rough surface of a crankshaft.
