Explanation of ultrasonic waves transmitted from the probe/transducer (visualization of ultrasonic wave propagation of pulse and continuous waves) 2018/10/25

We are pleased to announce the paper "Visualization of ultrasonic wave propagation of pulse and continuous waves (October 4, 2016)" presented by Japan Probe at the Acoustic Imaging Study Group held at Waseda University.。

Summary: The ultrasonic wave propagation transmitted from the probe was explained. Regarding the direct wave and the edge wave, the phenomena of the pulse wave and the continuous wave is different. It is reported that phenomena such as side lobes, zero radiance angles, and grating lobes occur when it overlaps the direct wave and the edge wave in case of a continuous wave with a large wave number.
Also, explained the meaning of the near field length and the cause of amplitude fluctuations.
