Presented a paper at Non-destructive Evaluation Symposium of Ultrasound. 2024/01/29

Japan Probe presented " Experimental verification of ultrasonic imaging in liquid by migration of array transducer" and “Response characteristics of ultrasonic probe at transmitting and receiving “ at the 31st Non-destructive Evaluation Symposium of Ultrasound held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Technology Research Center Aomi HQ from January 23rd (Tuesday) to 24th (Wednesday), 2024.

Subject : Experimental verification of ultrasonic imaging in liquid by migration of array transducer
Joint research: Ehime University, Japan Atomic Energy Agency
Overview : Defects in deposits in liquid were imaged using full waveform sampling processing (FSAP) using an array transducer.
Amplitude information was used for the conventional FSAP, but now phase information is used for visualization.
By using phase information, the image of the boundary in the plane direction became clearer than using amplitude information.

Subject : Response characteristics of ultrasonic probe at transmitting and receiving
Overview : We investigated the transmitting and receiving characteristics, including the ultrasonic waves generated when a square wave or sine wave is applied to the ultrasonic probe, and the signals generated when the ultrasonic waves are received by the probe.
Regarding the transmitting characteristics, we evaluated the step response that occurs during transmission, and investigated that in the case of square waves, ultrasonic waves are transmitted twice when the signal changes at the falling and rising edges.
We also described high-resolution ultrasonic measurement using the characteristics of square waves and ultrasonic transmission using only arbitrary frequencies.
