Japan Probe Co, Ltd developed the new product “NAUT21-I” - combination model of air coupled / immersion ultrasonic test system for evaluation and analyzing of materials, and we start selling it on 23th February, 2015.
・Non contact Air coupled Ultrasonic Testing system and new needs
In conventional ultrasonic testing, Couplant (A medium that propagates ultrasonic waves) such as water and gel is used, so we have to get test objects wet.
For this issue, Japan Probe developed and started selling the Non contact Air coupled Ultrasonic Testing system “NAUT21” in 2009. This system is innovative because it is possible to conduct the ultrasonic testing without contact. It realized ultrasonic testing without contact and getting test object wet.
“NAUT21” is used in various testing/measurement/evaluation such as CFRP, LiB, friction material (brake pad), solar light panel, thin film and so on. *"NAUT21" Series
But testing image of “NAUT21” uses Transmission method, so measurement result you can get is only plane image (C-scope).
We were requested many times to manufacture the system that is possible to collect the cross section information of test object for evaluation and analyzing of materials.
In order to respond that needs from customers, we developed “NAUT21-I” and we start selling it. This system has two functions in one body.
This is the combination model of air coupled / immersion ultrasonic testing system for evaluation and analyzing of materials.
We will exhibit “NAUT21” at the BATTERY JAPAN 2015 - 6th Int'l Rechargeable Battery Expo. This Exhibition will be held February 25th to 27th in 2015, and venue is Tokyo Big Sight.

“NAUT21-I” is the combination model of air coupled/immersion testing. It is possible to test/measure/evaluate/analysis by air coupled method and immersion method both.
Air coupled ultrasonic testing visualize inside of a test object as plane image (C-scope) in real time. Immersion ultrasonic testing uses reflection method, so it is possible to visualize a cross section image of depth direction.
And independently developed image processing program visualize inside of a test object as 3-D images instantly. You can adopt these functions to for evaluation and analyzing of materials, research and development, assurance of quality and credibility.

It is possible to change the testing pitch/scanning speed for purpose of testing.
7. Possible to save all waveform data
It is possible to save all ultrasonic waveform data. And it is possible to change an evaluation area after testing, so you can reevaluate the material.
